Universal announced not long ago plans to reboot most of their classic monster franchises. The first will be The Mummy, which will star Tom Cruise, and now confirmed Russell Crowe. Crowe is set to play Dr. Henry Jekyll in the film. Alex Kurtzman will be directing, and Jon Spaihts is the writer. The Mummy is set in modern times, and will be the first to attempt to bring the classic movies to a new audience. Because of his role as Dr. Jekyll there is a chance that Crowe will star in a number of the reboots. The Mummy is set to premier June 9, 2017, and we will bring you more news as it becomes available.
