Just a bit over a week ago the Kickstarter for System Shock Remastered was launched, and now they have officially met their goal. If you are unaware, the campaign was to raise funds to do a full remake of the 1994 System Shock. Bioshock is often considered the spiritual successor to the System Shock series, however if you haven’t check out the cyberpunk shooter you are missing out. The game will not be a simple remaster with a fresh coat of paint, but a full reworking that manages to stay true to the original while still bringing it forward to the 21st century. There is still 16 more days left on the campaign if you wish to donate and help out. They do have a number of stretch goals they are trying to reach including (but not limited to) Mac and Linux versions of the game, expanded areas, and more death cinematics. You can also check out the demo for the game on Steam, Gog, and via Humble Bundle. We are very happy that they have met their goal, and are excited to see how many of their stretch goals they will be able to make over the next days.
